Addiction to games...

I started playing The Sims3 again on Wednesday and are hooked into the game now. I just cant get away from the game even to go to shower or eat or cook or even to do my work. This is bad right? Like really-really bad. Why must games be so addictive? How do we control ourselves from all this temptations.

I used to be able to concentrate solely on my studies but nowadays my mind is easily distracted with silly little things like for example the other day when I was trying to do my MYOB assignment, I looked over at the watch and it was 3pm so I decided to cook meals for breaking the fast. Although I am pretty sure 3pm was very early for that purpose. Like even today, it's my off day in uni. I thought I would only spend an hour or so playing the games instead I spent quite a few hours during the day and while watching through The Mentalist, Burn Notice and Ghost Whisperer just now, I was trying to multi-tasking with my eyes on the television,my right hand typing replies to my bbm and my left hand controlling my sim.

So yeah, why does the games developer have to make games so addictive? It is so bad.

Even if you see all those games consoles that they have nowadays; Playstations, Nintendos, iPhones and iPads. Really, are we trying to invent an anti-social citizens in the future? Fifteen years ago, the only way kids can entertain themselves are to go out and meet other kids at the playground or nursery. In this decade, they can just go play their iPads or Wii. Like HELLO, how are they going to have a good social skills in the future? Maybe that's why it is hard to find polite kids with good social skills now.

Whoever who read this might conclude that I am blaming technology for anti-social behaviours. Well, who knows. Maybe I am. Maybe I am just merely stating the fact that is right in front of us. Even Blackberry phones, I am one of the victims myself; I could be sitting on a bench with three of my friends and we will be using BBM to communicate when we could just talk face to face with each other.

So where are the technology bringing us in the future? I'll let you ponder upon it. :)

Til then, I'm off trying to get a partner for my sim to settle down with. It's so annoying really, there's no cute available guy in the games. The cute ones either has a partner or has commitment issues. It's like the real world really. LOL.
